The Power of Appreciation

“If all you did was just look for things to appreciate you would live a joyous, spectacular life.” – Abraham-Hicks

What is Appreciation?

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, appreciation is defined as:

1. “a feeling or expression of admiration, approval, or gratitude.”

2. “increase in value.”

According to Abraham (a group consciousness from the non-physical dimension who speak through Esther Hicks), appreciation is:

  • The vibration of alignment with who you are
  • The absence of resistances
  • The absence of doubt and fear
  • The absence of self-denial or hatred of others
  • The absence of everything that feels bad and the presence of everything that feels good
  • A transformative energy that can increase your vibrational frequency
  • Seeing through the eyes of Source (God)

When you practice appreciation, you literally increase the value of your life and everything in it. Because of its high vibrational frequency, you will attract even more things to appreciate.

“Appreciation is the secret to life. Become a person who appreciates and you will thrive.” – Abraham-Hicks

The Energy of Appreciation

Everything is energy – you, your dog, a chair, your mood, it’s all energy vibrating at different frequencies (the number of vibrations per second) which is expressed in different forms: inanimate matter (the chair); a living being (you and your dog); and a mental state (your mood). Appreciation is also energy and is expressed through its own frequency of vibration.

In his book Messages From Water, Dr. Masaru Emoto demonstrates the impact of thoughts, feelings, words and music on the crystalline structure of water. For example, he and his team used a high-powered microscope to examine the formations of ice before and after affixing words, such as love and appreciation, to a test tube of water.

The water was frozen and examined, then compared to water identical in all respects except that it had not been exposed to the words. The results are amazing!

The crystalline shapes of the water exposed to the words “love and appreciation” were well-defined, complex, and beautifully lacy, where as the crystalline shapes of the water not exposed were relatively unformed, and had a nebulous or blurred quality.

Then Dr. Emoto affixed to another test tube of water the words “You make me sick. I will kill you.” These words had a very different impact on the water’s crystalline structure. Dr. Emoto describes this crystal as “distorted, imploded and dispersed.” Its structure is chaotic, ill-defined, and has nothing in common with the pristine beauty of the “love and appreciation” crystal.

If the differing vibrational frequencies of words can have this kind of an effect on the crystalline structure of water, imagine the impact on your life with the purposefully directed vibration of appreciation!

In Power vs. Force, Dr. David Hawkins shares his findings on the energy of emotions using applied kinesiology (AK), also known as muscle strength testing. On a scale of zero to 1000, shame is a vibration of 20. Guilt is at 30. The vibration of fear is 100, anger is 150, courage 200. Love is the vibration of 500.

Appreciation is at the level of 780. I’ve heard Abraham-Hicks say that appreciation is a similar vibration to love but when tested using AK, it’s even higher than love!

Harnessing the Power of Appreciation

You can harness the power of appreciation to:

  • Change your body’s response to stress, enhance your immune system, encourage good health, and promote faster healing.
  • Increase your joy and satisfaction at home and at work.
  • Improve your relationships and increase love in your life.
  • Attract new relationships (romantic and otherwise) into your life
  • Develop more self-confidence and better self-esteem.
  • Attract abundance and success

Appreciation used deliberately, purposefully, and proactively can transform almost anything, no matter how challenging, into a better experience. Mastering appreciation can literally work like magic for your life.

Thankfulness, Gratitude and Appreciation

Many people use the words thankfulness, gratitude and appreciation interchangeably but they do not have the same vibrational essence.

While thank you and appreciation have a similar vibration, gratitude has a very different vibrational frequency.

The word gratitude usually has a little resistance mixed in with it because there’s a feeling of having overcome something – your grateful that you’re no longer in the struggle. When you’re thankful for no longer being there (what you’ve overcome) it’s still in your current vibration.

Appreciation on the other hand is like love and is more pure. It is alignment with who you really are and connects you to Source.

And, like its accounting term, appreciation is the adding to what already is and becoming more of.

Becoming an Appreciator

Appreciation is most powerful when it becomes your basic approach to life instead of something that you only do occasionally.

Before you can reap the benefits of appreciation, you must first be willing to let go of certain resistance to appreciating – those reasons you tell yourself why you shouldn’t have to appreciate in a particular situation, or why it won’t work, or how appreciation is too hard in this or that circumstance.

One of the most challenging situations is appreciating someone when they don’t appreciate you. There are times when you may want to blame, deny, lash out, avoid anything but appreciate. You have to be willing to change patterns of thinking and feeling that may stand in the way of becoming a full time appreciator.

It may not happen overnight but if you keep working at it, your efforts will gain momentum and you will be filled with feelings of appreciation on a more consistent basis. Old habits can take time to change. Even people who have been practicing the power of appreciation find it challenging sometimes.

Choosing appreciative thoughts is a conscious process. Look for things to appreciate everywhere you can so you get in the habit of that vibration flowing through you.

Keep in mind that most situations have positive and negative aspects. Whenever you find yourself dwelling on what you don’t like or complaining, shift your focus to what you do appreciate. Practice noticing, thinking, and talking about the aspects of the situation that you can value and be thankful for.

When you adopt an appreciative mindset, you set the stage for so much more. The key to stepping into an appreciative state of mind is to consistently choose thoughts and feelings that express your valuing of people or situations. It is always your choice to not entertain negative or devaluing thoughts and feelings, and choose positive, appreciating thoughts instead.

Appreciation is the Key

If you want to live a magnificent, joyful and fulfilling life, appreciation is the key. The benefits are many:

  • Appreciation tunes you to the vibration of your Vortex (where everything you want is being held in vibrational escrow).
  • Appreciation opens you eyes and your heart to the abundance of life.
  • Appreciation aligns you with all manners of well-being, including financial abundance, loving relationships, and vibrant health.
  • Appreciation improves emotional and physical health, and transmits healing to every cell of your body.
  • Appreciation relieves depression and stress.
  • Appreciation improves sleep quality and duration.
  • Appreciation just makes you feel good!

When you choose to approach life with an attitude of appreciation on a daily basis, you’re a vibrational match to Source and you will magnetize everything you desire into your life more quickly and with ease.

Now that’s something to appreciate!
